Affiliate Disclosure

UpVire is free to use because retailers pay us a commission when you buy something after clicking one of our links. This page explains that arrangement in full, in plain language.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

The short version: some links on UpVire are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer. You never pay more because of it — the price is identical to going to that retailer directly.

What an affiliate link actually is

An affiliate link is an ordinary link to a retailer with a tracking code attached that identifies UpVire as the site that referred you. If you then buy something, the retailer's system credits that sale to us and pays a percentage — typically somewhere between 1% and 10%, depending on the retailer and the product category.

The commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. It is not a surcharge, it is not added to your basket, and it does not change your price, your delivery cost, your warranty, or your right to return the item.

Which links are affiliate links

Not all of them. Where a link earns us a commission, we mark it in the page's HTML with rel="sponsored", which is the standard convention search engines and advertising regulators expect. Links to retailers we have no commercial relationship with are plain links and earn us nothing — we include them anyway when they have the better price, because a comparison site that hides cheaper options is worthless.

Programmes we participate in

UpVire participates, or is in the process of applying to participate, in affiliate programmes operated by online retailers and affiliate networks. These currently include or may include:

  • Amazon Associates
  • Marketplace programmes — including Shopee Affiliate (Indonesia)
  • Digital product networks — including ClickBank
  • Service and software partner programmes — including web hosting, freelance marketplaces, and SaaS tools
  • General affiliate networks that represent multiple retailers at once

Where a specific programme requires its own disclosure wording, that wording appears alongside the relevant listings.

As an Amazon Associate, UpVire earns from qualifying purchases.

What commission does not influence

This is the part that matters most, so we'll be specific:

  • Ranking. Comparison results are ordered by price, cheapest first. A retailer cannot buy a higher position, and a higher commission rate does not move a listing up.
  • Inclusion. We show the cheapest listings we can find, including from retailers who pay us nothing.
  • Price. We display the price the retailer publishes. We do not mark prices up, and we cannot mark them down.
  • Omission. We do not hide a cheaper option because a more expensive one pays better.

Creator storefronts

UpVire lets independent creators publish their own storefront pages using their own affiliate links. On those pages, the creator selected the products and the creator earns the commission — not UpVire. Those storefronts carry the same disclosure requirement, and the products on them reflect that creator's choices, not our comparison results.

We take no share of a creator's links. On every plan, including Free, we pass a storefront's outbound links through exactly as the creator saved them. We do not add, replace or strip tracking parameters, so 100% of the attribution stays with the creator. Storefronts are funded by subscriptions alone.

Everything described on this page about our own affiliate relationships applies to the price-comparison search on our main site. That is a separate part of UpVire from the storefront product, and the two do not interact.

Accuracy and liability

We work hard to keep prices and availability current, but listings change constantly and we may be out of date at the moment you look. Always confirm the final price, shipping, taxes and import charges on the retailer's own site before purchasing. UpVire is not the seller and is not party to your transaction — your contract is with the retailer, and any dispute, return, refund or warranty claim is between you and them.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you believe a link is mislabelled, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.
